August 14 marks the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) back in 2008. Bobby’s story: a warning about recalled Graco Strollers

Bobby's grandmother recently shared his story on our Family Voices website. Bobby Dean died in 2007 when he was trapped between the seat and food tray of a Graco stroller. Graco finally recalled this product in 2010, but did not mention Bobby's death, only reporting on four earlier deaths and other injuries between 2003 and 2005. Stroller recalled for fall hazard, also may pose strangulation hazard

On Friday, CPSC announced the recall of Bumbleride strollers – the Indie and Indie Twin.  At issue is the front wheel – it can break, causing a fall hazard.  Bumbleride and CPSC report 36 incidents of the wheel breaking, with two injuries.  If you have one of these strollers, you can order a repair kit here.But in re-reading the recall announcement KID noticed something peculiar in the notice.  Down where CPSC usually has boilerplate language, ... Consumer Reports offers new safety alert website

On September 28th Consumer Reports (CR) released a new website specifically geared towards child safety. To promote their new resource CR has teamed up with the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and National School Board Association (NSBA).
