KID releases new report on SaferProducts.gov

August 14 marks the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) back in 2008. CPSC repeats warning about falls in Bumbo baby seats

The Consumer Product Safety Commission today is again urging parents to use caution when using Bumbo Baby Seats.  In October of 2007, the CPSC issued a recall of this same product in order to provide new warning labels which stated that Bumbo Baby Seats should not be placed on any elevated surfaces. Safety group warns against certain car seat boosters

As more and more states require car seats and boosters for older and larger children, the number of booster seats on the market has risen. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently tested 41 booster seats and found 13 of them wanting when it came to correctly positioning the safety belt on the child.
